Liana Landivar (formerly Christin Hilgerman) is a UCI soc phd (’07) and a DASA alumna. She served as a senior statistician at the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Census Bureau. Her research focuses on occupations and women’s employment and she is the author of Mothers at Work: Who Opts Out? Dr. Landivar is also the author of numerous government reports and visualizations on the STEM workforce which have been featured in Congressional and White House briefings. Her work on women’s employment has been covered widely in the media in outlets such as the Washington Post, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Science. Professor Landivar’s research interests include occupations, women’s employment, work hours, work-life policies.
